Confessions of an angered philanthropic single mom.

by | Mar 25, 2016 | Self Travel

The world encourages us to both
stay to ourselves and to help
our brothers and sisters (when
it’s safe).

Sharla here, and boy is this
subject a touchy one for me.

I would ask that you [REALLY]
open your mind while reading
the words typed in front of you…

What I have to share may
irritate you to say the least…

…but you will get over it [hopefully].

As kids, we are taught by many
teachers, Sunday school teacher,
by friends and even parents to
“never talk to strangers.”

All for the protection, safety
and the well being of their offspring.

I GET IT.

Seems like a respected
philosophy that’s normal to
impart on the young ones.

My parents NEVER taught
me that philosophy.

NO, I didn’t end up being
swooned by kidnapper
offering to give me candy and
stuffing me in an unmarked
van…

…but NOT being taught
that , SAVED me!

Lets fast forward a bit.

I was working with some
agents who just came on
board with my company.

Most of these individuals were
educated, kind, smart, and
seemingly motivated to
work themselves out of a job,
and desired to make
tons of money by helping
people…

…but 90% quit (and quickly).

WHY is that?

The average student is
NOT taught the philosophy
of how to master skills
with PEOPLE.

Instead they are taught,
even if they are unaware,
to steer clear of strangers…

…it’s engrained in their psyche!

So the notion of someone
can transform overnight into
becoming a selling machine
is nonsense

…because sales requires
talking to strangers DAY in
and DAY out.

Although I had tons of
success in network marketing,
I realized quickly that the
average person has to
really move out of their comfort
zone to create that success…

…and there aren’t too many
people willing to do that.

This was brought to my attention
again over the past year.

I help to start and continue
to support the non-profit that
helps orphans in Guatemala.

We’ve built an entire orphanage,
donated two vans, rebuilt part of
another orphanage, and are getting
ready to break ground on a school
girls this year!

Over the past 4 years I have help
with the marketing and fundraising
efforts that have accumulated
over $300,000. [not too shabby]

On a personal level I have helped
two of my dear friends when they
hit the biggest life challenges.

I raised $10,000 almost over
night for my girlfriend who’s house
burnt to the ground.

And…

Brett, 25 year old diagnosed
with stage 3 cancer

…I helped him raise right
at $40,000 in FIVE WEEKS.

No one asked me to do these
things, I just knew that with my
marketing and event planning
skills, from my business experience,
that I could help raise money
to make their life easier.

I had to talk to strangers.

Develop content and events
where I had to meet, greet, and
solicit STRANGERS to pull
their wallets out…

…all to help fellow human
being in need.

Shortly after raising $50k for
two of my friends, I personally
hit hard financial times myself.

I started to get angry.

Angry with the world.
Angry with my friends.
Angry with my family.

Why?

“Because dammit, I help
everyone else, why doesn’t
anyone want to come to my
rescue and help me???” I thought
to myself.

I wanted someone to
start a go-fund me for ME.

I wanted someone to just
hand over cash to help me
for a minute…

…not a loan, just hand it over.

Just like I do for others.

Yeah I know, harsh right?!?!

Every day, it’s a constant
“job” to mind my thoughts.

That particular thought
was not a very empowering one.

Once I slowed down to
examine this subject, I realized
part of the reason no one came
to my aid, was the same reason
people quit doing sales, when
that wasn’t their background.

Most people HATE sales.

Most people are more than
“icky” with talking to
strangers. [for any reason]

Philanthropic work is SALES.
Dating is SALES.
Applying for a job is SALES.
Recruiting for the military is SALES.
Business is SALES.

It’s impossible to get away from sales.

No one came to my rescue,
because there was a bigger
lesson for me at hand…

…I wasn’t expressing
my God given talents that
I was put here to do.

Part of my purpose in life
is to help people gain the skills
to win in life and business.

I hadn’t been expressing that
to the world enough

…I failed to help teach
people to be confident, those who
could even think about raising money
for whatever it is they need, much
less do it.

So instead of crying and playing
victim about my TEMPORARY
financial situation, I GOT TO WORK.

I first scheduled my first SOLO
marketing class that people
have been begging me to do for
THREE YEARS now.

I also listened to an audio book,
“Trust Me, I’m Lying” by Ryan Holiday…

THIS CHANGED IT ALL FOR ME.

I began writing and writing
so much of the creative marketing
tactics that I’ve been
advising people
on for years…

…but now it’s going to be
available for hungry men and
women who want to WIN
in business and life.

What’s been poured into me
by my parents since birth…

All the audios, books, workshops
and people who have taught
me how to be a massively
successful business woman
is now coming together to
touch the masses…

…So that YOU, your friends,
family and neighbors
can FINALLY replace that
philosophy of “don’t talk to strangers”
with the philosophy that…

…to get ANYTHING done in life,
it takes people, connections to the
right people and connections to
the right channels of funding.

You see, PEOPLE are the most
important thing on earth.

People give great HUGS.
People have great IDEAS.
People know OTHER PEOPLE.
People is WHERE ALL MONEY
comes from.

So learning SKILLS WITH PEOPLE,
will make your personal life
that much more rich and
can make you a wealthy
business person, sales person,
network marketer, etc.

I used my anger on this
subject and turned it into
good for all.

I turned my “mess into
my message.

YOU CAN DO THIS TOO.

It’s time to get up off that
bed self pity and
DO SOMETHING.

Good news is…

I’M HERE TO SUPPORT
YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!

Here to lean on.
Here to learn from.
Here to be inspired by.

Because trust me, if a
single mom, like me, can
do this YOU CAN TOO.

***GET EXCITED ABOUT ALL THAT LIFE HAS TO OFFER***

***GRAB YOUR JOURNAL AND START WRITING DOWN ALL THE
THINGS YOU LOVE, ARE GRATEFUL FOR AND WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN LIFE***

We all have been given the equal opportunity to harness the PASSPORT to LIVING, in business too!

So let’s DO IT TOGETHER.

I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!
