Childhood middle school, mentally squashed haters just to survive…

I was nothing short of tortured  in middle school, like so many others I’m sure.

I remember walking into the end of the 8th grade hall, only to be greeted with one of the tallest girls in school who proceeded to bang on her locker, turned her head to the side (as if she couldn’t see the flat locker in front of her) saying “Sharla is that you, Sharla is that you?!?!”

Yeah, the flat chested one she was referencing was your’s truly…flat as a wall or a locker in this case.

Seconds after she started this horrible act of rudeness, that broke my spirits for god knows how long, the rest of her posse started to bang on their locker too.

OK, OK…large chested women isn’t something my family is known for, and I was no different.

Clearly at this age, girls are cruel to say the least. I know this teenager in today’s time would be considered a bully, but back then this was the norm.

Girls trashing other girls…

…chewing girls up that were “weak” and spitting them out. I may have been weak (and an angry teenager because of this type treatment) but moments like these are EXACTLY what made me STRONG.

Today, women still face the battle of existing as equals in the business world with men.

This means that we must not only work harder to even get a chance, but we have to have thick skin.  Middle school bullies helped to shape my thick skin and my “get out of my way” attitude.

Fast forward several years and I “tried” college…

…TWICE actually.

I dropped out each time.

Although I was still flat chested, although I gained some thick skin from middle school bull shit…I dropped out because I learned more from my parents and audio books I had listened to my entire life than I ever learned in business school.

I was dumbfounded they let people teach class that never even succeeded at a business of their own…

So being the pompous and opinionated college kid, I dropped out with hopes of succeeding in life despite that choice.

I may have let moments in school crush me, I may have dropped out of college twice, but that’s the fabric of me in the business world. 

I harnessed this “get out of my way” attitude, when my network marketing mentor, my father, Frank AuCoin, advised me to GET OVER my fear of rejection of people saying “no” in the most unique and perplexing way.

…he literally advised me to pick the phone book, open it up to any page, make random dials, and ask for FRANK AUCOIN.

It wasn’t like there were tons of Frank AuCoin’s in Charleston, none actually.

Of course every person I spoke with said, “no, Frank who-you must have the wrong number.”

So this exercise I didn’t have to do for that long…

I got the gist of it quickly and felt confident to pick up and make cold calls that would actually generate CASH.

…I knew if I went to talk to someone about the product I was selling, and they said no…

…I knew that it wouldn’t kill me, hell it wouldn’t even make me bleed.

Most are taught by society, family and school, to have a job…

…and there’s NOTHING wrong with that.

But there is a reason why most people won’t take the adventurous and somewhat disappointing journey into business ownership, network marketing, sales, etc.

Why is this?

It could be the negative connotations that buzzes in people’s minds as they read google’s definition of entrepreneur:

I think it’s hilarious definition: a person who organizes and operates a business, taking on great than normal financial risks in order to do so.

WHAT THE HELL???

Last time I checked, it’s super risky to have a job-even more so than owning a business in my not so humble opinion.

In a job you don’t dictate your paycheck.  Your boss’ boss does that for you.

In a job you don’t get to dictate when you pee, take vacation, or even get a lunch break…

You work your whole life, with a financial ceiling over your head at some point, that you can’t escape…

You will work your whole life under the thumb of someone else telling you what to do, and never see multi generational wealth…

…and run the risk of having someone younger take your job in a minutes notice, leaving you unemployed.

Now if you are a 9-5 person, this may piss you off…

…but it’s the cold hard TRUTH.

If you are ok with that, then INCREDIBLE…you are what makes America great…

You have CHOICE (for now anyways).

My point tho is that having a job is RISKY

AND

SO

IS

BUSINESS OWNERSHIP.

I guess for me, I would rather make the game that I can win at, rather than walk on the field where someone else makes the rules, holds the whistle and tells me what uniform to wear.

Now I know some very successful people who have jobs and love it.

I respect the hell out of teachers, police men, firemen, and those who serve other humans and animals.

I’m not pissing on your Wheaties if that’s you…

I just have DISDAIN for definitions like that…

…that taints a person’s perspective on having the audacity to take (calculated) risks on a playing field where they can make as much money as they bring value to the game.

If Richard Branson can pre book 700 flights to space with each ticket costing $250,000 a piece, then you can certainly find a niche business that makes your heart sore and make the money you know you want and deserve.

Richard started developing Galactic year ago and at first flight, CRASHED.

He could have stopped, but much like the pioneers of America, he kept going…

…refining the design with some of the best in the field.

NOW, he’s living his dream…bringing space travel to anyone who can pay the price of admission.

…and clearly his making money HAND OVER FIST doing it.

It’s a win win.

Is there risk, YES.

Living life in a bubble of safety is boring.

Living life without calculated risks is blasé.

…plus doesn’t create a fun Instagram or Facebook account.
No fun pictures=no one gives a crap.

Experiences in life takes TIME and MONEY.

The goal would be to have both.

So no matter if you are angry because I tore apart your view of having a “safe and secure job”

OR…

You are excited that the world sits in front of you, with endless possibilities…

LET’s TOGETHER…
GO FOR OUR DREAMS.
TURN OUR MESS INTO OUR MESSAGE.
WORK YOUR JOB WITH ALL YOUR HEART.
WORK YOUR BUSINESS WITH ALL YOUR HEART.
NEVER STOP.
KEEP GOING.
DREAM BIG.
ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU ONLY BELIEVE…
AND WORK HARD!I
